About and method

In short

BaristaCompas is an independent site that compares espresso machines and grinders sold on Amazon.com. Specs come from the product listings and are dated, no hands-on test is described unless it actually happened, and the site is funded by the Amazon Associates program at no extra cost to buyers.

BaristaCompas helps you choose an espresso machine or a coffee grinder from checkable specs: pressure, heating system, steam wand, grinder, milk system, water tank, size. Every comparison says who a model suits and who should skip it.

Who writes

My name is Ilias and I run this site from Belgium. Espresso machines are hard to compare on Amazon: pressure figures that say little on their own, several listings for the same machine, and titles that disagree with descriptions. For each comparison I read the full listing of every model, record the specs and date them. When a figure is missing or contradictory, I say so instead of guessing. I do not describe a test I did not do myself.

How we pick the models

The models we list are sold on Amazon.com; each listing (ASIN) is checked on the date shown on the page. Specs come from the listings; when a figure is missing (noise, dimensions, bean hopper), we say so. We do not print prices: the button leads to the current price.

How the site is funded

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon are affiliate links: the price you pay does not change. No brand pays for a place in a comparison, and no manufacturer reviews our pages before publication.
